A individual accused with harassing Kate McCann apparently deposited her a voicemail message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who court testimony revealed has persistently asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are on trial charged with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned phone records and information obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test over that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most publicized investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One phone message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am she? What happens next? Is that not significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the message continued.

The panel was advised that by means of emails, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with the police force who gathered the information, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

The court heard Mrs Spragg established a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' property in the county in December 2024.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be treated respectfully in the period preceding the trip to Rothley, the county, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two individuals, in last November, discussing attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from utensils at a dining venue.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their home, the defendant dispatched a communication which stated: "We find ourselves sat outside the McCanns' home with our lights out resembling detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."
