Chalobah Set to Step in for Marc Guehi in England Squad

Trevoh Chalobah in action

The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st pair of siblings to play for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is likely to join up with the Three Lions selection to replace unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old footballer is scheduled to meet up with the team for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been made public.

The national side have already secured qualification for next summer's World Cup.

Chalobah earned his first selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.

In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the team for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and also did not select him for the following October fixtures.

Tuchel has been an key influence in Chalobah's progress, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in almost every fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League victory over the Dutch side last week.

There are likely to be further additions to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) are set to pull out from the England setup.
