The original stars, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to reprise their roles in the latest Hunger Games film, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
An Important Return to Panem
Lawrence and Hutcherson will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Speculation suggests their roles will likely occur in a future-set scene, considering the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.
This marks the sixth film in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
Exploring the New Story
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It will be the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who directed most of the previous films in the series.
The Plot and New Cast
The film's story are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.

- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a earlier incarnation of the menacing President Snow.
